to my page. Here you will find news and tidbits on the
latest in my life. Below you will see the latest addition
to the Perez livery. Honestly, we were only window
shopping. The Taurus will be paid off soon and it is time
for a new car. I had my eyes set on a Hyundai Sonata.
This Winter, Ike was worried about me driving the Taurus because
of my wipe out last year. So he let me use his Subaru and
he drove the Rover. Well, I believe there was an ulterior
motive because I ended up liking the AWD feature. So, now that I changed my mind and wanted an AWD vehicle, we decided to go out and window shop AWD vehicles. The first stop was at the Subaru dealer. Ike had already chosen a Legacy for me to try. The salesman Ike spoke to earlier in the week was not there yet but they let us drive the car anyway. So we did. It was great. Nicely loaded with features like seat warmers, power everything, dual climate control system and so on. We found some parking lots that were iced over. Ike had me make some turns there to get a feel for the AWD. It took some getting used to especially after Ike got in the driver's seat and took it out on some turns to show me how to properly respond to the slips and slides in AWD. I did tell Ike on the way back that if we were buying today, this would be the vehicle. We returned and the salesman was there. He took us into the office and first thing he said was that he would sell it at invoice. There was also a money back with special interest deals going on for the month of Feb. This ended up with $2,500 extra off the invoice price. This brought the price at $40 more than the Taurus payment. Well, we could swing that. It was pretty much swapping one vehicle for another. So we took it. An early Valentine's present for me. It was too good of a deal to pass up. This was one of those days where things were just going our way. This was because the car was specially ordered with extra features but when the woman who ordered it saw it, she did not like the spoiler at all. So they ordered another vehicle for her but were stuck with this one. He was anxious to off load it since they don't sell too many Legacys there. Also, while we were test driving, there was a woman there who stopped by to test drive that particular car. Her father heard about it and told her to stop by. Well, good thing we showed up when we did else she would have bought it. So here are photos of my new ride. Yes Terry, I have gone over and have become a Subaru driver. Now, I just have to come up with a name for it. |
